PDF Editor uses cloud services to provide AI-powered features while respecting your privacy. We collect only the minimum data necessary to deliver our services and never sell your personal information.

Stored Locally on Your Device

  • PDF Documents: Files you open, edit, or process within the app.
  • Editing Data: Signatures, annotations, highlights, and text edits.
  • AI Chat History: Your conversations with the AI assistant about PDFs.
  • Cached Summaries: Generated summaries for faster access.
  • Preferences: Theme, language, and app settings.

Stored in the Cloud (Firebase)

  • Device Identifier (ANDROID_ID): We explicitly collect an anonymous device identifier to manage AI usage limits and subscription tiers without requiring a user account.
  • Advertising ID (AAID): We collect the resettable Android Advertising ID via Firebase Analytics for analytics purposes only — to measure app usage patterns, feature engagement, and installation attribution. It is not linked to your personal identity and is not used to serve or personalize ads.
  • Usage Limits: Remaining AI credits and feature usage counts.
  • Subscription Status: Your plan tier (free/premium) and expiry date.
  • Timezone: For proper limit resets and time-based features.

What We Do NOT Collect

AI Features & Data Processing

PDF Editor uses Google's Gemini AI to provide intelligent features like summarization, Q&A, and translation. Here's how it works:

Important Disclosure Regarding Document Processing

When you utilize our AI features (such as "Chat" or "Summarize"), we extract text from your PDF documents and transmit it to third-party AI providers (Google Gemini / Firebase AI) for processing. Your documents are only processed ephemerally. We do not permanently store your document contents on our servers, and they are immediately discarded by the AI after generating a response.

Subscriptions & Billing

Our app offers premium features through in-app purchases and subscriptions. All payment processing is securely handled by Google Play Billing.

  • Payment Information: We do not collect, process, or store your credit card or payment details. All transactions are managed directly by Google Play.
  • Purchase Verification: We only store anonymous purchase tokens and subscription status in our database to unlock premium features and manage usage limits on your device.

PDF Editor uses Firebase by Google for backend services:

  • Firestore Database: Stores your device ID, usage limits, and subscription status
  • Firebase Crashlytics: Collects anonymous crash reports to improve app stability
  • Android Backup: Your app data may be backed up to Google Drive via Android's auto-backup feature

Firebase data is secured with encryption and follows Google's Firebase Privacy Policy.

Data Retention & Deletion

How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear app data
  • Cloud Data: Anonymous usage data retained as long as you use the app
  • AI Cache: Summaries and chat history stored for 90 days of inactivity
  • Crash Reports: Anonymized crash logs retained for 90 days

How to Delete Your Data

Please note that this app does not require account creation. Your cloud data is associated only with an anonymous device identifier.

Uninstall:

Uninstalling removes all local data. You need to request to delete your cloud data.

Email Request:

Contact support@apptiline.com with your device ID to request cloud data deletion. We will respond as soon as possible.
